Britney's First Dance Recital

Britney's first dance recital was fun.  She looked a little nervous on stage, but did really well.  She looked super cute too.  Her class was huge, with just one boy.  If you're a boy in dance, you've got to wear tights, not sweats (no respect for non-tight wearing dance boys).  We bought her a rose after she performed and didn't realize it was a fake flower.  Looks like she'll get to keep it forever.

Ashley's 12th Birthday



Ashley had a great 12th birthday.  I can't believe we have a twelve year old.  She mostly wanted clothes for her birthday, which is crazy.  I always hated getting clothes.  She is excited for Young Womens and already loves attending each Wednesday with her friends.  Ashley wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for her birthday dinner and the servers made her get on the saddle while they sang.  Congrats Ashley!!!

  



Thanksgiving in Phoenix

We had fun in Phoenix for Thanksgiving.  Tara hated the drive, but she would've hated the drive if it was 2 hours.  That's the price you pay for cheap.  It was a jam packed extended weekend.  We took all the kids golfing on Friday.  That meant 5 adults and 7 kids ranging from 12 to 4 years old.  Crazy, but fun.  It was an executive course so it was okay for all of the kids to be there.  We also swam everyday.  The temperature was awesome, always around 80 degrees.  Drew has a fun pool and hot tub in his backyard.  The kids jumped of the rocked and learned new dives.  Britney got swimmers ear from swimming so much.  Mom and Dad were there, Drew and his kids, and us.  Small group, but we were able to do things that we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

On the way home, we took a little detour to the Grand Canyon.  None of us had ever been there.  We didn't spend a lot of time.  Just enough to see three different spots, but it would be nice to stay longer, do some hikes, and may be even raft the Colorado.

Happy Birthday Ashley

Happy Birthday Ashley!!! We can't believe we have a 12 year old in the house.  This is a big day for her.  She gets to go to Young Women our church's youth group and do some fun camps in the summer.  She's really excited.  We're going to take her lunch at school today and out to dinner tonight with Grandma and Grandpa Miller.  Should be fun.  Happy Birthday kiddo!!!

The Young Women from our church came over one Saturday this month and woke up Ashley with the Happy Birthday song and then took her to breakfast.  We thought that was pretty cool that they did that.  Ashley sleeps like a rock and when she woke up said, "I didn't know it was my birthday today!?"  She must have still been a sleep.
