Spring Break in Las Vegas

We decided for a warm, yet relatively local spring break this year.  Las Vegas was the choice, with a brief stop in St. George, UT on the way home.  The weather was certainly warmer than SLC, in the 70s with wind so it still felt a little chilly sometimes.  We stayed on the strip at the Cosmopolitan.  It was close to everything we wanted to do, but it was definitely a burlesque education for the girls (not a good thing).  We'd stay at the the JW Marriott in Summerlin next time.  The strip is very adult, even during the day.

We still hit the pool every day despite the wind.  The girls could care less.  Ashley was sick with a cold the whole trip and was dragging most the time.  She didn't feel well and we didn't sleep well with her hacking cough at night.  Her and I managed to go to both the Las Vegas Temple and the St. George Temple during the trip.  The girls love the Bellagio, the fountains are cool, but they like the gardens inside.  We went to the top of the Stratosphere with everyone.  Some of us, the brave, rode the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere.  Freemont was crazy too.

A lot of folks go to Vegas and miss out on Freemont.  We went late afternoon to Freemont Street, but it was still crazy.  Tara wouldn't let the girls get a picture with the Chippendale dancers for $5.  I thought that was a good deal, but Tara didn't want the pic to affect the girls future political careers (if they so choose).  Fun trip, but we'd definitely stay off the strip next time in Summerlin and drive in for whatever specific thing we wanted to do.

On top of Stratosphere.

Here we are on the Big Shot on top of Stratosphere.

A trip to Old Vegas on Freemont St.

Golden Gate Casino.  Lots of family history here.

Hash House at the Plaza on Freemont.

Ashley and I hit the Las Vegas Temple and the St. George Temple.
